The AC Dimmer is designed for precise regulation of alternating current (AC) voltage and can handle loads up to 40A at 600V using the high-power TRIAC BTA40. To ensure stable operation and longevity, we recommend operating below the maximum limit.
Key Features:
- Suitable for resistive and inductive loads, including heating elements (electric water heaters, underfloor heating, pool heaters), powerful AC motors, pumps, and fans.
- Fully isolated control and power sections for microcontroller safety.
- Supports both 5V and 3.3V logic levels, making it compatible with Arduino, ESP32, STM32, Raspberry Pi, and other microcontrollers.
- Zero-cross detection for smooth and precise phase angle control.
- Efficient heat dissipation with an integrated large aluminum heatsink and active cooling fan, ensuring stable dimmer operation.
Microcontroller Integration:
For Arduino-based projects, the dimmer is easily controlled using the RBDDimmer.h library, which simplifies handling of phase-cut dimming through hardware interrupts. The library supports multiple dimmers on a single microcontroller and offers precise control over power output.
For ESP32, STM32, and Raspberry Pi applications, the dimmer can be managed using PSM-based or phase-angle control techniques via GPIO pins. Example codes and integration guides are available in the Documents section and on our GitHub repository.
Safety Recommendations:
To protect both the dimmer and connected load devices from potential failures, we strongly recommend using a fuse (either a standard fuse or a switch box fuse). This precaution helps prevent damage and ensures long-term reliability.

Is said to be compatible with 3v command, but needs 5v to work well. the item arrived with the fan mounted on the wrong direction, but it’s easy to fix. after that, it works well

Article according to the description. I’m going to use it to order a electric water heater with a solar router DIY…

The dimmer works well, I had difficulty finding an example showing how to connect the different wires, there is nothing extraordinary but when you use V you like to be sure to do well on the 1st try. It is exactly the same for the connection of the fan, which moreover makes a lot of noise especially when it is not working at full speed.
Conclusion: I am satisfied with the device even if I only tested it with a bulb. And mr the seller I invite you to provide a diagram of cablage with the dimmer. You could also offer a suitable box to avoid touching the high voltage lines.
